The Academy
First Baptist Music Academy has provided quality music education since 1976. Our friendly instructors are qualified to teach all ages and levels.
The Academy serves students of Bethany Christian School as well as the communities of Troy, Sterling Heights, Rochester, Rochester Hills, Warren, Clawson, and Royal Oak. Several advantages of being an Academy student include:
Lessons in a variety of instruments
Students may study piano, voice, guitar, organ, violin, viola, cello, string bass, trumpet, French horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba, flute, clarinet, saxophone, snare, and percussion. The Academy also offers group Kindermusik classes for children ages 2-7. If students take lessons in more than one instrument, they save valuable time by studying at the Academy.

Qualified faculty who love to teach
Our teachers have studied and taught music for years! Our goal is to provide musical training of the highest caliber. However, our teachers are not just concerned with their student’s musical excellence, but also with their well-being as a person. We love and care for our students as individuals and tailor each lesson to fit their respective needs.

Flexible lesson times
We offer lessons all day long, five days a week (Monday - Friday). Homeschool families, college students, working professionals, and retirees may all benefit by taking lessons during a time that fits their busy schedule.

Spacious lesson rooms
Our studios are equipped with regularly tuned and maintained acoustic pianos and all the resources our teachers need to provide quality lessons.

Instrument rental, purchase, and repair services
Many students who learn band and orchestral instruments have the option of renting or purchasing an instrument from the Academy. If their instrument needs repair, their teacher can help with the necessary arrangements.

Are your instructors qualified?
Our instructors have gained experience and qualification through years of study, teaching, and professional performances. Some of our teachers have been on staff for over 30 years! Not only do our teachers provide excellent music lessons, but they also care for each student as an individual. Our warm, friendly teachers will ensure each student receives a positive musical experience!

Will students have opportunities to perform
Several performance opportunities are available throughout the year, from contests to recitals. Recitals are a wonderful opportunity for friends and family to admire each student’s progress!
What are your rates
$26 per 30-minute lesson (recommended for young children and beginner students)
$39 per 45-minute lesson (recommended for intermediate students)
$52 per 60-minute lesson (recommended for advanced students)
*FBCT members and BCS families receive a discounted rate.

Do you offer early childhood music classes
Yes, our Kindermusik program supports each child’s development socially and musically. Children who attend Kindermusik classes are well equipped to begin school and private music lessons. Kindermusik is offered for children ages 2-7. For more information, click here.
